Head of Portfolio UK East
Imagine a future where you’re responsible for the asset management of five operational wind farms off the east coast of the UK
Join us in this role where you’ll represent Ørsted as the owner of Race Bank, Westermost Rough, Lincs, Gunfleet Sands, and London Array. As a Director in each of the 5 Joint Ventures (JVs), your goal will be to maximise the value of the assets by implementing improvements and managing risks.
Welcome to Asset Management UK Coastal
You’ll be part of the Asset Management UK Coastal team in the UK Commercial department where you, together with your colleagues, will be responsible for managing the JVs and maximising the value of the 1.9GW UK East portfolio, of which Ørsted owns more than 700MW. This will involve leading your team of Commercial Managers and collaborating with teams across the business including finance, legal, operations, and engineering to drive the performance of the asset, maximise the value of the investment, as well building strong relationships with the JV partners.
You’ll play an important role in:
optimising the profitability of the assets, both EBITDA and the lifetime value (NPV), and ensuring the successful delivery of the FID and Divestment business cases
identifying asset-specific and cross-portfolio risks to the business case, and working with internal teams to ensure mitigation strategies are developed and implemented
identifying opportunities to improve the asset business cases, and working with internal teams to ensure plans are developed and implemented to realise the opportunities
representing Ørsted in project JVs as Director, developing strong partner relations and representing the JV to external stakeholders such as the Offshore Transmission Owners (OFTOs)
managing the JV, ensuring compliance with wider regulatory and contract requirements, facilitating the preparation of partner meeting materials to support decision making, and driving the focus on safety and operating performance
handling all commercial issues arising in the partnerships and negotiating and settling disputes.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
a master’s degree or similar in business administration, economics, engineering, or legal
an excellent understanding of the financial and legal aspects of joint ventures
strong leadership, communication, facilitation, prioritisation, and interpersonal skills required for managing internal and external stakeholders across a huge breadth of activities
deep commercial insight, coupled with a solid understanding of the offshore wind business and the levers for improving asset performance
excellent negotiation skills and project management experience
substantial experience with commercial and contract management.
